Docs2Site is a Content Management System (CMS) that allows organizations to share source documents and post them to a public internet. Currently designed for use with Google Apps for your Domain, Docs2Site keeps account administration to a minimum because the Software as a Service (SaaS) secures email and shared documents with the same password. A "community" password controls the server cache of the menu and pages.
Docs2Site creates a fully customizable 4-Level dropdown menu from a shared spreadsheet. No database is required on the website server, only PHP 5 and Perl. FTP is necessary only for the initial program upload and configuration, it isn't needed for end users to post photos and content to the site. The SaaS provides end users an intuitive WYSIWYG interface for creating content, inserting photo's, links and rich text attributes.
Docs2Site allows non-technical end users more artistic control over the daily look and feel of the site than usual CMS software like Drupal or Google Sites. Users can promote key seasonal topics, re-arrange or toggle menu items in/out of use. Clean URLs provide access to all content. PHP 5 is used to cache the menu spreadsheet as a csv and serve the documents to viewers. Perl is used to cache the documents. CSS and Javascript present the menu using the Son of Suckerfish method. Javascript is used to resize the inline frame for viewing Presentations.
